How to Create Palace Props and Avatars*

The Palace is a highly visual multimedia chat program that has become a very popular means of interaction for personal and educational use.  It gives the users the freedom to be creative and unique by creating their own individual props and avatars, adding to the ease of communication and expression.  Though most Palace users have a desire to create and use distinctive props and avatars, many settle for using the familiar set of smiley faces because they lack the knowledge of making their own.

The goal of this instruction is to teach registered Palace clients to use Paint Shop Pro 7 to convert any digital image to the correct size and colors, and then use the Palace prop editor to complete the transformation of the image into an avatar or prop for personal or educational use.  This instructional unit presents detailed instructions of the prop/avatar creation process, gives graphic examples, and provides links to all  files that are needed.  Having everything that is needed all in one unit simplifies the procedure and give users all the freedom of expression that was intended for them to have in the Palace.
